Swatch x Omega Mission to the Moon 1969 is a limited-edition and individually numbered chronograph that pays tribute to the historic Apollo 11 Moon landing and the original Speedmaster design language of 1969. Combining Swatch’s innovative Bioceramic construction with distinctive OMEGA-inspired details, this timepiece presents a contemporary interpretation of one of the most significant moments in watchmaking and space exploration history.
The watch features a matte black Bioceramic case paired with a matching black rubber strap, finished with a VELCRO® closure and Bioceramic loop for a secure and adjustable fit. The dial, hands, crown, and pushers are crafted from OMEGA 18K Moonshine™ Gold, with a total weight of 11 grams of this precious metal. The dial features recessed counters, black hands, Arabic numerals, and gold-tone beveled indexes with black varnished interiors, creating a sophisticated contrast against the dark dial.
A black Bioceramic bezel is finished with a gold-colored tachymeter scale protected by an anti-scratch coating. The battery cover features a gold-colored Moon design, also protected by an anti-scratch coating, incorporating the date of the Apollo 11 Moon landing and a footprint referencing the first step taken on the Sea of Tranquility.
Each watch carries its unique edition number engraved on the side of the case at the 9 o’clock position, highlighted with refined golden lacquer. The dial features OMEGA X Swatch branding, the iconic Speedmaster logo, and the MoonSwatch logo. Logos, typography, and gold hallmarks used on the original 1969 design further reinforce the historical inspiration behind this limited-edition model.
Additional design details include box-shaped biosourced glass with an etched “S” at its center referencing the Swatch logo, a finely detailed circular pattern on the outer dial ring, recessed subdials, and sharply defined yet smooth lugs. Together with the distinctive Bioceramic texture, these elements create a watch that blends historical design references with contemporary Swatch innovation.
